Program Specifications

Optislim offers a VLCD program, which stands for Very Low Calorie Diet in which you only consume a minimal number of calories. It is a three step program which starts very intense and works down to a maintenance level of weight loss.

Level 1 is the most intense. Not everyone will participate in level 1. In fact, level 1 will be most beneficial for overweight to obese people. Every meal will be replaced with a VLCD meal replacement product from Optislim. Options include soup flavors: pumpkin, tomato and hearty chicken as well as shakes and bars.

You should not be on this program for longer than two weeks and should ALWAYS contact your physician before starting on a program of this nature.

Level 2 allows for up to 1,000 calories a day, up 200 from Level 1. During this level you will replace two meals with a VLCD product and have a third healthy and well balanced meal. You can also add in light exercise.

Level 3 is for maintenance. You should have reached your weight loss goal when you start on this level. You will only need to use one meal replacement during level 3 and should add even more healthy exercise.

Like mentioned above, not everyone will participate in all three levels of the Optislim weight loss program.

What Else You Should Know about Optislim

Optislim is an Australian company and is only available for purchase online. However, the company only ships to the UK and Australia, putting it out of reach to many consumers.

Furthermore, even though you will no doubt lose weight when on this program. The weight may not stay off after you stop with the meal replacements and it is unhealthy to be eating such a low calorie diet for an extended period of time.

Even though this program promises to provide you with the essential vitamins and nutrients you need to get through the day, there is no ingredient list included which would actually prove that those nutrients are included.

Additionally, the company points out that there is no fiber in their meal replacement products, meaning you have to purchase the fiber separately, giving the company even more of your hard earned cash.

Even though you will lose weight on this program we feel that it is unhealthy and there is no proof that it actually contains the ingredients necessary to keep you healthy. We would recommend searching elsewhere for a meal replacement product before turning to Optislim.
