When researching Atrophex, we went straight to the source for information: BSN’s website. The website is aesthetically pleasing, but to our surprise there was nothing informative about its weight loss product, Atrophex. BSN touts to have “the most powerful weight management formula in the history of supplementation.” Moreover, it states that it “isolates and targets problem areas and removes the subcutaneous water under your skin to reveal muscle shape, cuts, and definition.”  Making claims like this would be alright if there was some scientific evidence to back it up, or even testimonials, but there aren’t any. To us, the consumers, this is frankly insulting. Fortunately, we can help decipher Atrophex’s formula.

Ingredients

-          Vitamin B6

-          Vitamin B9

-          A proprietary blend of the following:

o   B-Phenyethylamine, B-Phenyethylamine Malate

o   Hordenine HCl

o   Methylxanthine (caffeine)

o   Green Tea, Fleece Flower, and Loranthus Parasiticus DL-Phenylalanine

o   Razberi-K

o   Naringin

o   Synephrine (bitter orange)

o   Yohimbe HCL

o   Cinnulin PF

o   7-Keto

o   Plus, a few others.

This is not a bad mix of ingredients. Green Tea,  Caffeine, and Synephrine are all weight loss promoters. The main problem is that it is a proprietary blend, meaning we do not know how much of what is in each pill. This leads to concerns about whether there are deceiving fillers in Atrophex. Many companies add fillers in order to save money, making the product less effective.  Ingredients that work are costly and shrink the company’s profit margin.

Conclusion

From our research we have concluded that Atrophex will not promote significant weight loss. Its proprietary blend is weak and does not contain the appropriate amount of active ingredients to make it an effective weight loss medium. In addition, it is grossly overpriced at $69.95. It can be found for $35-$40 on eBay and Amazon, but without the much needed guarantee. If you are looking to lose only 3-5 pounds this is an OK product.
