What is Leptoprin?
Leptoprin is a pharmacy-sounding (not pharmacy-performing) fat burning supplement manufactured by Basic Research out of Salt Lake City, UT (through another front company).
What does Leptoprin Contain?
- Calcium
- Vitamin B6
- A proprietary blend (meaning we don’t want to tell you how much of the ingredient actually goes in there) of the following:
- Acetylsalicylic acid
- Caffeine (if you get the jitters, it’ll probably be from this)
- Green Tea (this is mainly just more stimulant)
- L-Tyrosine
- Kelp
- Ephedrine alkaloids (this will definitely get you jittery!)
- Cayenne
We’re thoroughly unimpressed with the amount of stimulants here and recognize that most people would probably notice serious negative side effects when taking this (it’s not safe to assume that one of those side effects would be significant weight loss).
Leptoprin’s Sly Marketing
Basic Research has used an interesting approach when marketing Leptoprin. They say that it is “not for casual dieters” and they play off the fact that it is extremely expensive: “When is a diet pill worth $153 a bottle?”. They target specifically the “extreme” overweight, knowing that it will pique the interest of those interested in losing less than “extreme” amounts of weight.
To expose this gimmick even further, consider that Basic Research also sells another diet pill through a front called Generix Labs called Leptopril. This is marketed to the segment of the population that wants to lose weight but not be reamed by price gouging. Leptopril and Leptoprin are the exact same product.
Overall Conclusion of Leptoprin
The stimulant-heavy Leptoprin is not recommended. We would take our warning a bit further and also like to state that any product from Basic Research should be examined with the highest amounts of scrutiny and skepticism. They have a track record for employing over-the-top marketing with the sole purpose of exacting money from unsuspecting customers in need of a weight loss aid.
I have to even give you a link to buy this product - but the best prices are on Amazon and eBay - these are customers suffering from buyers remorse or that got suckered into the “auto-ship” program.
